Culture Ministers of Armenia Azerbaijan Georgia Turkey Meet

STRASBOURG (CE/Yerkir)–"Cultural Policies in Transition: dialogue and new partnerships" will be the focus of the third Ministerial Colloquy of the Council of Europe’s STAGE project (Support for Transition in the Arts and Culture in Greater Europe) to be held in Antalya–Turkey September 18 to 20.

In addition to Ministers of Culture from the three South-Caucasus countries and Turkey– Ministers and high ranking representatives of observer countries of the project–Austria–Germany–Greece–Russia–Switzerland and Ukraine–will also participate in the Colloquy to be open to the press.

Participants will evaluate the STAGE project and reflect on implementation of cultural policies–and co-operation between cities.

A final declaration will be adopted at the end of the Colloquy.

Deputy Minister of Culture Karen Aristakesian said that Armenia would not be brining up the destruction of Armenian historic–cultural monumen’s in Turkey and Nakhichevan during the talks; Armenia’should instead–"approach the issue diplomatically," he said.
