US Plans to Increase Aid to Georgia

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–US Senator Richard Lugar–Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee–is expected to sign an agreement with Georgia on increasing financial aid to the country.

The increased resources will be spent on destroying weapons of mass destructions–particularly biological weapons.

Lugar–who is currently on a working visit to Georgia–is expected to meet with top government officials including President Mikhail Saakashvili–Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania–and Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili–among others.
