Aida Yeghiazarian Honored as Businesswoman of the Year

GLENDALE–Longtime Glendale resident and community activist Aida Yeghiazarian–was honored–recently–as the Armenian American Chamber of Commerce’s Businesswoman of the Year–during festivities attended by a "Who’s Who" of local and regional dignitaries–political figures and prominent professionals.

The Renaissance Banquet Hall was packed to capacity with well-wishers and supporters from the State Capitol–City Hall–local and federal law enforcement agencies–and the California Supreme Court–as well as numerous community and business associations.

The award is one of many honors she has earned recently–Congressman Adam Schiff named Aida "Woman of the Year" for California’s 29th Congressional District–in March of 2004 and she was selected as a 2004 "Woman Achiever" by Business Life Magazine.

Aida is also the recipient of a slew of commendation letters–special recognition awards and declarations from a wide spectrum of notables–including California State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger–Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca–Supervisor Michael Antonovich–Congressman Adam Schiff–Councilmember Eric Garcetti–State Senator Jack Scott and State Majority Leader Dario Frommer–among many–many others.

An exemplary community service devotee and real estate professional–Aida is a 12 year board member and two year chairperson of the Armenian Educational Foundation (AEF)–a non-profit–philanthropic organization established in Los Angeles–in 1955–to assist students and schools–worldwide–with scholarships–teacher training–and school restoration.

She is also a 4 year board member of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANC)–Western Region–part of the largest and most influential Armenian-American grassroots organization in North America.

Aida and her husband–Vahe–have lived and worked in Glendale for more than 25 years and are co-owners of the ReMax of Glendale real estate enterprise. The couple are well known patrons of the arts and educational projects–and have spearheaded many successful events and fundraisers for local charities and worthy causes.

The Yeghiazarians are the proud parents of two beautiful and talented daughters–Ani and Sevan–who currently attend the University of California–Santa Barbara.
