MOSCOW (Noyan Tapan)–Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met Wednesday with representatives of the European Union–the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe–and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Lavrov and the representatives discussed issues pertaining to the South Caucasus region–including the Karabagh conflict and the peace talks between Armenian President Robert Kocharian and his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
Representing the EU were the Foreign Minister of Austria–Ursula Plassnik–the Foreign Minister of Finland Erkki Tuomioja–EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner–and EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana.
