Consul General Visits ARF Western US Center

GLENDALE–The newly appointed Armenian Consul General to Los Angeles Armen Liloyan visited the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western US Central Committee’s Peshekerian center Tuesday evening. Present at the gathering were representatives of Western US Regional executives of the Homenetmen, Armenian Relief Society and Hamazkayine Cultural Association, as well as the Board of Directors of the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region, the Central Executive of the Armenian Youth Federation Western US and the directors of the Asbarez newspaper and Horizon Armenian Television. Accompanied by ARF Western US Central Committee chairman Avedik Izmirlian, Liloyan toured the two-story building and visited the offices and facilities. Following the tour, the Consul General met with organizational representatives and learned about the activities of each organization and their plans for the upcoming years. In his remarks, Izmirlian welcomed the Armenian government representative to the center, with the willingness–on behalf of the gather–to further strengthen the ties with the Consulate and add vigor to cooperative activities. In his remarks, Liloyan said that he was reciprocating an earlier visit by the ARF Central Committee to the Consulate and affirmed that cooperation with the ARF and its affiliate organizations will grow in the interest of preserving national interests.
