Armenia and Russia to Create New Air Defense System

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A top Russian military commander said Russia and Armenia would create a regional air defense system. Lieutenant-General Aytech Bizhev, deputy chief of Russian air defense troops, was quoted by Itar-Tass as saying that the new system would be presented at the February 17 meeting of a CIS committee for coordination of air defense to take place in Yerevan. Bizhev said the new system is a replication of a system that was created earlier by Russia and Belarus.
