ISTANBUL (Marmara)–Following last month’s murder of Agos editor Hrant Dink, similar death threats from Trabizon were received by the Patriarch of Istanbul, Archbishop Mesrob Mutafyan, the new editor of Agos, Etienne Mahdjoubian and Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk. The death threats came from Trabizon, the same city from where the lead suspects in the Dink murder were captured and arrested. The Patriarch told reporters that after an investigation from police internet crime division, it became evident that the threats sent to him came from the same email address as the ones sent to Dink. "I read in the papers that Orhan Pamuk, Etienne Mahdjoubian and I are the new targets," said Arch. Mutafyan. The Patriarch said after the murder of a Catholic priest in Trabizon, all religious leaders have been assigned bodyguards.
