YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A group of Armenian cinematographers are in Berlin shooting a documentary film about the Armenian genocide. Armenian ambassador to Germany Karine Ghazinian said that the director Karen Gevorgian and the film crew were studying documen’s about the genocide which are kept in the German National Archives. She said the embassy applied to the German Foreign Ministry for permission to shoot the documen’s and materials about the Armenian genocide. Speaking to the press, Ghazinian also highly praised German-Armenian cooperation, calling Germany an important trade partner, with investmen’s exceeding 200 million euros. The ambassador said that cultural cooperation was also improving. In May a festival of Armenian films is scheduled to open Germany and at the end of the year, within the framework of Month of Armenian Culture in Germany, well-known Armenian bands and singers will perform in different German cities. "As the EU presidency, Germany gives a great priority to the cooperation with the countries of the South Caucasus. Europe seeks to see South Caucasus as a peacefully cooperating region," the ambassador said, adding that Germany insisted that the Karabakh conflict resolution process remain within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
