YEREVAN (ARF Press Office)–The Bureau of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation held separate meetings Monday with Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Arkady Ghoukasian. A delegation headed by ARF Bureau chairman Hrant Markarian and including fellow bureau members Vahan Hovanessian, Albert Adjemian, Mario Nalbantian, Vigen Baghoumian, Garo Armenian and Vicken Hovsepian, as well as ARF Political Director Giro Manoyan met with Kocharian for more than 90 minutes. Kocharian expressed satisfaction for the long and stable cooperation with the ARF, whose leaders expressed their satisfaction with the passage of the dual citizenship law in Armenia’s parliament earlier that day, attributing the successful passage of the legislation to the party’s continued cooperation with the president. The meeting also focused on Armenia’s foreign policy issues and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution process. Armenia’s economic reality, as well the upcoming parliamentary elections were also discussed with both sides emphasizing the importance of holding free and fair elections. Later that day, the same delegation met with Ghoukasian, who was being joined by Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Foreign Minister Georgy Petrossian. The more than two hour meeting focused on the Karabakh conflict resolution process, with a special emphasis on the party’s role in addressing the issue within the international community. The two sides agreed to hold such meeting on a regular basis.
