Vahe Hits The Metal

LOS ANGELES–Vahe Berberian’s latest paintings, a limited series of Milagros, will be exhibited on Saturday March 31, in Atwater Village. A milagro is a miracle or surprise, in Spanish. Vahe Berberian’s milagros are a little of both. The small, colorful, figurative paintings on metal are an expression of the artist’s whimsical side. "The milagros started as an experiment, but I enjoyed the process so much that I could not stop. As an abstract painter, tapping into the figurative well of my unconscious was quite a revelation," says Berberian. "For me, these are etudes; visual reminders of an inner voyage I took for a short period of time." The postcard sized, framed acrylic on metal pieces will be displayed for only one night. "Given the nature of the works, we thought the best way to show them was to have a huge party, with music, dance, drinks and food," says the event’s organizer Christina Shirinyan, "This is a perfect opportunity for those who always wanted to own a "Vahe" and couldn’t afford it. I have no doubt that they will be gone within the first two hours. So we suggest that people come early to have a first look works." The exhibition/party will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 8PM to 2AM, at Casitas Studios, 3191 Casitas Ave. Atwater Village, CA 90039. For more information and to RSVP please email or visit
