YEREVAN (ARF Press Office)–The Secretary General of Socialist International Luis Ayala visited Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic over the weekend to personally acquaint himself with the situation there.
On Friday, Ayala attended the opening of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation History Museum, where he emphasized the importance of preserving the ARF’s history and the project.
Accompanied by ARF Bureau member and the party’s representative to the Socialist International Mario Nalbandian and ARF Political Director Giro Manoyan, Ayala visited the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Saturday, where he met with President Arkady Ghoukasian.
Back in Yerevan, Ayala Sunday met with ARF Bureau chairman Hrant Markarian and ARF Supreme Council of Armenian chairman Armen Rustamian and other Bureau members. During the meeting, the strengthening of Socialist International’s activities in the region were discussed.
On Monday, Ayala met with Armenia’s Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisian, with whom he discussed the activities of the Socialist International.
