Kocharian Leaves for Paris on Official Visit

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–President Robert Kocharian Tuesday left for France on a three-day working visit, at which time he will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy, his press office reported. He will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian, and Armenia’s Ambassador to France Edward Nalbandian and other officials.
Kocharian is also scheduled to meet with National Assembly President Bernard Accoyer, Senate President Christian Poncelet.
President and First Lady Bella Kocharian will attend an exhibit titled “Armenian paintings in 1830-1930” and a modern art exhibition at the Luxembourg Palace.
The president will also take in the official closing ceremonies of the “Year of Armenia in France,” which began on Independence Day on Sept. 21 in Armenia and will conclude of French Independence Day on July 14, Oskanian told Radio Free Europe.
