Oskanian Meets Estonian Counterpart

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian was received by his Estonian counterpart Urmas Paet Monday to discuss the further strengthening of relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry of Armenia reported.
Oskanian expressed Armenia’s willingness to deepen cooperation with Estonia based on the existing potential and the historic ties between the two peoples.
The ministry in Yerevan also added that the two ministers discussed the necessity of developing a legal framework that outlines a more intensive bilateral relationship between the two countries.
During their meeting Oskanian and his counterpart discussed the intensification of economic cooperation, particularly in the sphere of information technologies and tourism.
The Estonian minister expressed the willingness of his country to share with Armenia its experience regarding European organizations.
Oskanian discussed Armenia’s current cooperation programs with the EU and NATO. Reference was also made to the cooperation between countries within other international organizations.
During the meeting views were exchanged on regional development, as well as Armenia’s relations with neighboring countries. Oskanian discussed the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and invited his Estonian counterpart to Armenia.
Later in the day, Oskanian met with the first deputy speaker of the Estonian parliament and representatives of the Armenian community.
