ARF to Keep Opposition Option Open

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Hrayr Karapetian, the secretary of the parliamentary faction of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Friday said his party will decide after the February election whether it will sign another cooperation agreement with the coalition government or move into the opposition.
"After the election we shall decide whether we will sign another cooperation agreement with the coalition or become opposition," he concluded.
The ARF, he said, is ready to cooperate with all political groups, especially with "heavyweight" parties. We are not making particular efforts to win the support of other political groups, but we "will welcome those who would like to stand by us," he added. This also applies to the opposition Heritage (Zharangutyun) party, Karapetian added.
"I think the majority of our people, who know about the ARF and appreciate its activity will defend us [in the February 19 presidential election]," he remarked.
