Armenian Chess Grand Master to Compete in International Tournament

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian Chess Grand Master Levon Aronian will participate in the International Chess tournament set to take place on February 15 to 20. The tournament will kick off in the city of Morelia, Mexico and will continue in Linares, Spain from February 28 to March 7.
Aronian will compete with Grand Masters Vishwanathan Anand of India, Vasili Ivanchuk of Ukraine, Vesselin Topalov of Bulgaria, Peter Leko of Hungary, Sergey Shirov of Spain and Teymur Rajabov of Azerbaijan.
In another chess news, Armenian Grand Master Gabriel Sarkisian played a draw with Grand Master Francisco Valekho-Pons of Spain in the 4th round of the Pamplona International Chess Tournament. Gaining 1 point from 4 possible, Gabriel Sarkisian is on the 8th position.
Grand Master Sergey Movsisyan of Slovenia also shared the point with Mikhail Rodstain of Israel and shares the 5th to 6th positions with 2 points.
The winner of the tournament is Francisco Valekho-Pons with 3 points.-
