Top Army Officers Quit Yerkrapah Union

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A cohort of top army generals and Colonels, led by Seyran Ohanian, chief of the general staff of the armed forces, abandoned on Sunday the Yerkrapah Union of Nagorno-Karabakh war veterans in protest against its involvement in politics.
The move came after deputy chairman of the Yerkrapah and some other members of it voiced their backing to ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosian.
The army generals said in a statement that the organization should not meddle into process, which bring no honor to defenders of the homeland.
