OSCE Urges Increased Resolve for Karabakh Solution

BAKU (Armenpress)–The Chairman-in-office for the Organization of Security and Cooperation, Finish Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva told reporters in Baku Thursday that the OSCE supports a resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict that will respect Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
Speaking at a news conference in the Azerbaijani capital city during the second leg of his regional visit, Kanerva said, all efforts should be aimed at seeking a peaceful settlement of the conflict. The OSCE promotes all attempts to accelerate the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, he added.
In related news, Azeri Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov discussed with reporters Thursday Azerbaijan’s position on the international precedent’s set by Kosovar independence.
"Different precedents of resolution of conflicts can not change the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh," he said.
He was quoted by Trend news agency as saying that Armenia’should realize what it loses and what it gains from the unresolved conflict. Azimov said Azerbaijan will never agree to cede its lands and because of that Armenia will have to live on under the constant threat of a resumption of war with Azerbaijan.
