Polling Station Chairperson Charged with Electoral Fraud

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)-The Chairperson of Gegharkunik Polling Station 22/21 Hripsime Haytian was arrested and brought up on charges Wednesday for falsifying the ballot count at her polling station, reported the Prosecutor Generals Office.
According to the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General’s Office Sona Truzian, she has admitted to the charges against her.
There were great discrepancies in the final vote tally reported by the polling station, she said. After investigating the actual ballot papers from the station, we discovered that the votes for Levon Ter-Petrosian, Serzh Sarkisian, and Vahan Hovannesian were all inflated, she said.
The case against Haytian was filed after the Central Election Commission sent its findings to the Prosecutor General’s Office on February 2, Truzian explained.
