Charter Expands Armenian Programming, Moves to Digital Tier

GLENDALE–Charter Communications announced this week that it will be expanding its offering of Armenian programming on its cable system in Glendale, Burbank and La Crescenta and by April 1 by migrating all existing programming on analog to Charter Digital, a company spokesperson announced.
Charter said this is the most robust and varied Armenian program line up in the country.
Joining Horizon Armenian Televion (Ch. 285, ATV (Ch. 283) and PENTA TV (Ch. 282), which are already on the digital tier will be AMGA, ARTN, HIGH VISION, LA VIEW, NVTV, ISN and AAB, which will move from analog channels 26, 30 and 31 to Digital channels 280, 281, 284, 286, 287, and 288 respectively. The transition to digital telecasting is mandated by the Federal law and takes place February of 2009.
Charter will be telecasting these Local TV Programmers on their current analog channels (26, 30 and 31) until April 1. During the month of March you will also be able to view your favorite programs on these channels on either their current basic channel or their new digital channels. Armenian TV viewers who currently subscribed to Charters Digital TV services need only to tune to their new Digital channel locations to continue to enjoy this exclusive programming available only on Charter Communications.
Those viewers who are %u218not’ Charter Digital customers need to contact Charter before April 1st to arrange for the upgrade to a Digital TV Cable Receiver to ensure their continued viewing of these channels.
As of April 1st these channels will %u218only’ be viewable on Charter’s Digital channels.
Our Charter customers have two options:
1. For immediate service we advise our customers to drop by our convenient lobby located in Glendale at 6246 San Fernando Road, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturdays 9 a.m. to 4p.m. and arrange to take home a Charter self-install kit with a Digital Receiver. Charter Digital receivers are available for an additional $5.00 per month. Charter will have Armenian language personnel and self-install materials to help ensure a smooth transition to Charter Digital TV services.
2. Or call Charter Customer Care at 1-866-499-8080 and arrange for a “limited time” Free Upgrade Install offer (A Savings of $34). This Offer will expire on April 8th, 2008. A Charter employee will come to your home to install the Digital Receiver. We highly suggest our customers call early to arrange for this installation.
Charter Digital service allows access to hundreds of additional channels. The $5 per month Digital TV Receiver gives the customer access to 45 Commercial-Free Digital Music channels, our interactive on-screen guide and hundreds of hours of no-charge Video On Demand programming.
