Sarkisian Meets With Armenian Ambassadors

YEREVAN (ArmRadio)–Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian met with the heads of the Armenian diplomatic corps Friday to discuss the priorities of Armenian foreign policy in the coming years, the President’s Press Office reported.
Sarkisian stressed that a much more resolute and active foreign policy would be the driving force that would move Armenia forward in the next five years.
"We want the coming years to become the years of proactive and vigorous foreign policy," underlined the new president.
But there will be no radical changes in foreign policy, he noted, adding that the policy of complimentarity-of bilateral and multilateral relations with friendly and partner states–will continue.
This policy will deepen and strengthen Armenia’s position in the international community, he stressed.
Sarkisian tasked Armenia’s diplomats with pursuing even more dynamic and intensive relations with all countries they operate within.
He also discussed the current state of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict resolution process, underscoring the need to strengthen relations with Diaspora in order to better realize its potential in helping Armenia tackle its diplomatic challenges.
The President told the diplomats that it is necessary to enhance foreign economic relations and to attract new investmen’s to Armenia. He explained that serious work is being conducted in Armenia in order to create normal conditions for competition, adding that that the customs and tax administration would be improved and the fight against corruption would intensify.
