AMAA Orphan Care Luncheon and Children’s Fashion Show Selling Out Fast:

This is the count-down to one of the most beautiful annual luncheons in Los Angeles County! The AMAA Orphan and Child Care luncheon, silent auction and fashion show will be held on Saturday, April 26th at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Gina Felikian, Grace Kurkjian and Nora Tavlian are the co-chairs of this year’s event celebrating Children Helping Children With Love.
This year’s event is quickly selling out, with reservations coming in daily.
“We have an incredible group of models this year, who are going to put on a beautiful show for their sisters and brothers in Armenia,” said Nora Tavlian, who has been working closely with the young girls and boys for the fashion show. The fashion show will be coordinated by James Campbell Productions and it will feature special designs from various boutiques.
“Everyone in attendance is going to want to run out and buy these gorgeous outfits for their children,” said Gina Felikian, who has been working feverishly with the rest of the committee to make certain that the luncheon is a success as in the years’ past.
"The work of the orphan care committee is very important because the proceeds of the event are all for the benefit of child and orphan care programs, both in Armenia and Karabagh. The funds raised go directly to help the orphans and the needy children,” said Joyce Stein, who is the national co-chair of the Orphan and Child Care Committee. In 2007, the moneys raised by this committee facilitated nearly 2,800 sponsorships, support of 20 kindergartens in Armenia and Karabagh, summer and day camps for over 6000 children and teenagers, as well as various art, sports and theatre classes for over 1000 children and Christmas programs at 50 locations including gift packages for nearly 2500 children.
Grace Kurkjian said she believes that we can reach 3,000 sponsorships this year, adding that “it is most certainly an attainable goal, and we thank our blessings every day for the donations we receive all for the benefit of these innocent children.” This year’s motto is Love is Patient, Love is Kind, Love Never Fails. And this luncheon is all about love, the love that our children here have for the needy Armenian children and the handicapped who pray for medical care everyday in Armenia and Karabagh.
Excited about the upcoming luncheon, the silent auction chair, Argine Jean Kelegian, explained that the auction will include many spectacular items, including Waterford, jewelry, spa packages and prime seats to the Hollywood Bowl and other sports’ events. “I know that our guests will be thrilled with this year’s selection and the bidding is going to be intense,” said Elizabeth Agbabian, one of the founding members of this committee.
You will not want to miss this extraordinary luncheon-it will be truly spectacular! For more information and tickets please call Savey Tufenkian at (818) 956-8455 or Elizabeth Agbabian at (310) 476-5306.
