Consul General to LA visits San Francisco

BEVERLY HILLS–Armen Liloyan, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles, visited San Francisco from April 11 to 13 to meet with the Bay Area Armenian community.
The visit started with Consul General’s tour of Krouzian Zekarian Armenian school, where he met with the teachers, students and parents. Liloyan also answered their questions pertaining to Armenia.
Later in the day the Consul General had a talk at the University of California (Berkeley) on Armenia’s current economic situation, country’s domestic and foreign affairs, as well as touched upon recent developmen’s in the region. The talk was followed by a question and answer session.
Liloyan also met with the Bay Area chapter of the Armenian National Committee, as well as with the representatives of various Armenian organizations. The participants of the meeting exchanged views on Armenia’s domestic and international challenges.
On April 12, Consul General Liloyan was a keynote speaker at the Annual dinner of the Bay Area Friends of Armenia, a non-profitable organization, which implemen’s educational, social, and health care projects in Armenia. He provided comprehensive information about the state of economy and democracy in Armenia. He particularly stressed the importance of Armenia-Diaspora ties and elaborated on their prospects and challenges.
On April 13, the Consul General attended a Sunday service at St. Vardan Armenian Apostolic Church of Oakland, followed by a talk with the public in the adjacent hall. Liloyan addressed the issues relating to Armenia’s internal and foreign policy, and its relations with Diaspora.
