ANC-PAC Endorses David Krikorian for Ohio House Seat

CLEVELAND, OH–The Armenian National Committee – Political Action Committee has endorsed David Krikorian in his bid to represent the residents of Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District. Krikorian entered the race as an Independent this past April and will be facing Democratic challenger Dr. Victoria Wulsin and incumbent Republican Jean Schmidt in the general election this November.

According to Congressional Quarterly Politics, Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District stretches from some of Ohio’s wealthiest areas in eastern Cincinnati and Hamilton County in the state’s southwest to struggling rural communities in southern Ohio. One of the state’s most solidly GOP districts, it has a distinct split between its suburban and rural elemen’s. As of the latest Federal Election Commission filing deadline, Krikorian had approximately $130,000 cash on hand, with his major party opponents each holding approximately $385,000 cash on hand.

"The Armenian American community across the country is rallying around David and his effort to make history this fall," remarked ANC-PAC supporter Steve Mesrobian. "David has been a remarkable role-model for all Armenian Americans who like him, value community service and our democratic ideals. His willingness to put aside his personal and business interests to sacrifice by becoming a public servant focused on solving the issues and challenges facing this country is exemplary". "I urge all Armenian Americans to give generously at to ensure that David has the resources he will need to win his congressional race this November," Mesrobian added.

In announcing his decision to challenge both major parties for a House seat Krikorian declared, "I decided to run for Congress, as an Independent, because I want to represent the people of the Second District, not a political party. Neither the Republicans, nor the Democrats, are operating based on the needs and best interests of our country." David Krikorian is an entrepreneur and devoted family man involved in local civic affairs in and around Madeira County, a suburb of Cincinnati. He is running as an Independent candidate for Congress because he believes that the people in Ohio’s 2nd district deserve better representation than what they are currently receiving from the widely unpopular Jean Schmidt, who is an active member of the Turkish Caucus.

David was born and raised in Rhode Island by his dad, Harry, a postal worker, and his mom, Rose-Marie, a medical lab technician. David is the gran’son of survivors of the Armenian Genocide.
