Dr. Niary Gorjian Appointed Principal of Ari Guiragos Minassian Armenian School

The Prelacy Armenian Schools Board of Regents announced on Friday that Dr. Niary Gorjian has been appointed the new principal of the Santa Ana Ari Guiragos Minassian Armenian School.

Dr. Gorjian’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Organizational Consulting Psychology and B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Gorjian is the founder of the Armenian online professional network and has served as an organizational consultant to a variety of organizations, to include, a private pediatric office, a United States International Development (USAID) group in Armenia, and the San Diego County, Children’s Services.

"The road toward educational and cultural excellence, as an Armenian-American, begins to develop in early childhood, as one’s mental capabilities and identity take form. Beginning to instill the Armenian culture, during early childhood and throughout elementary education, is an extremely critical step and the wisest decision Armenian parents can make for their children, and for the Armenian culture" said Dr. Gorjian.

Dr. Gorjian was a visiting Assistant Professor of Management, at the School of Business and Management of the American University of Armenia, in Armenia. Dr. Gorjian has worked with ADHD children as a behavior modification paraprofessional at UC Irvine’s Child Development Center. She has also presented at regional and national scholarly conferences: Academy of Management, Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Gallup Leadership Institute.

Dr. Gorjian was granted the "promising dissertation award" by a division of the Academy of Management, for her innovative contribution to the field. She is a current member of the Armenian National Committee, Professional Network (ANC-PN); Armenian American Medical Society of California (AAMSC) and a past member of the AYF Fresno Chapter, as well as former executive board member of the Armenian Students Association (ASA) at UC, Irvine.
