Armenia Fund Completes Apavan Water Main

YEREVAN –Hayastan All Armenian Fund announced Wednesday that construction is complete on a new water main for the village of Apaven in Armenia’s Lori region. The project, costing roughly 32 million drams, was sponsored by the Fund’s Montreal chapter.

The village of Apaven, located 1650 meters above sea level, has suffered from short water supply since Armenia declared independence. Water running from the original pipeline had become unfit for drinking, contaminated by the excessive damage and corrosion of the pipes.

The 620 meter long pipeline and the 1,200 meter long inner network is now providing clean drinking water to 30 households in the village.
