This incident has angered residents of Gyumri and all of Armenia, with demands that Permyakov be handed to the Armenian authorities for prosecution according to Armenian laws.
Putin Calls Sarkisian
Russian President Vladimir Putin called President Serzh Sarkisian a week after the killing spree, expressing condolences and pledging to swiftly complete the investigation.
According to the Armenian presidential press service, Sarkisian “underscored that Armenian law-enforcement bodies will actively continue taking the necessary measures aimed at fully revealing all the details in the case. In this regard, the Armenian and Russian heads attached great importance on promoting close cooperation between the two countries’ law-enforcement bodies.”
The Russian Interfax news agency reported that Putin promised Sarkisian that the guilty parties would be punished.
Very sad news!May God bless Avetisian family.
What a horrible thing for a child to die like this. This has been one of the most horrible periods in Armenia. Regardless of who/what carried out evil crime, this has been a severe blow to Russian-Armenian relations, one that will resonate for many years. It is primarily up to Moscow now to resolve this matter in a way that will not make things worst between the two historically allied nations. With that said, I see fault on both sides: Armenians have failed to become a lobbying presence inside Moscow (assuming it’s not necessary since Russia is a strategic ally) and have instead concentrated on establishing closer relations with Western bodies. Russians, for their part, have neglected little Armenia, assuming that Armenia is an ally and will stay an ally no matter what. Essentially, both sides are sure of each others fidelity, so both sides have neglected each other. Therefore, both sides are fundamentally at fault. Armenia must place all its limited resources in establishing a permanent presence inside the walls of the Kremlin. Russians must realize that Armenia’s internal woes are being exploited by Western/Turkish interests and used against Russia’s presence inside the country. Kremlin officials must realize that the situation in Armenia may get worst in the future because Western propaganda is targeting Armenia’s youth. Although I realize Russia is in a historic fight for its life against Western powers, I do nevertheless call on Russian officials to begin paying more attention to their little Armenian ally in the south Caucasus,
What you are proposing is Armenia to become an outright Oblast of the Federation. This is the worst scenario. It would be better to die fighting than to simply surrender and assimilate into an unnatural foreign entity !
Very very sad and tragic. There has to be a special place in heaven for this child. RIP
This Russian solider deserves death penalty, I don’t know what kind of laws Russians have or the Armenians, but any one who comments murder needs to be punished. Not in jail when they get to come out after a while somewhere when they never see the sunlight. There is nothing in this world anyone could say to make this family feel better. I just hope this solider suffers as much as this little Angele who suffered this couple of days. May God bless this family in heaven.
What are the reasons for this soldier committed this heinous crime? A soldier with mental problems? Psychopath? Paranoid? If a mental patient, as the Russian army not realized his disease? The Russian base commander 102, which is the responsible for this animal, has a lot of explaining to all Armenians, and what remained of the family.
This animal should get locked in, not seeing the sun, moon, and without any human contact, until the end of his miserable life.
I know people in the neighborhood, he was caught, he wasn’t crossing the border. He was at best caught in southeast Gyumri behind someones garage. Why is it being reported he was caught by the border?
After 100 years we are still experiencing autocracies at the hands of foreign troops on our soil. Damn to all those who have collaborated, contributed and subjugated us to this faith. Let the blood of this family stain the hearts of the treacherous greedy self serving oligarchs and their elite corrupt protectors.
Mr Putin has promised full employment for Russians even if they have mental problems.
Russians should keep their mentally unstable citizens in their own country.
.
What is this sick person (Valery Permyakov) doing in Armenia?
.
Mr Putin must punish Valery Permyakov SEVERELY and COMPENSATE (100 Millions $..) Armenia (and the effected family) for all costs and future rehabilitation for the pain and sufferings.
.
This sick soldier should be QUESTIONED by Armenians to prepare a comprehensive report about the incident and find out how many people were involved?
.
Who encouraged (Accompanied) this sick dog? Who else WAS/IS still INVOLVED? What took place?
.
These questions MUST BE ANSWERED.
.
Armenia should make sure that there are NO MORE SICK RUSSIANS IN ARMENIA.
It is sad to see the baby died as well. Let’s not blame Russia for this. All the responsibility of this tragedy goes to the russian solder only. As long as the assassin is severely punished in Russia, I’m fine with that.
This was hit and it was ordered by Turks. Why would the criminal try to escape to Turkey?
