Ari Guiragos Students Participate in Annual Homenetmen Kaham Games

The students of the Ari G. Minassian School truly displayed their best sportsmanship as they participated in the 25th Annual Homenetmen Kaham Games in Glendale. This was the first year that AGM had more than one team participating in the Kaham Games. Coaches, athletes, and parents demonstrated great spirit and enthusiasm toward the practices and games during the past few months as they attended the weekly games in Glendale.

Through their many hours of practicing and playing, the very essential lesson of team building and sportsmanship was instilled in each athlete. AGM had three teams that participated. These teams comprised of the first grade boys soccer team, the second and third grade co-ed soccer team and the fourth and fifth grade co-ed soccer team.

All the families, coaches, athletes, along with the AG Minassian Principal, Dr. Niary Gorjian, attended the closing ceremony, which was held on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Glendale Community College. With great pride and joy, athletes of the first grade team received a first place trophy and medals within their division, and the fifth grade team received a second place trophy and medals within their division. Congratulations are in order for all the participating athletes, who demonstrated their best efforts and sportsmanship!

As part of its continued strive in providing a well rounded education and environment for the students, the coaches, parents, and administration have all agreed that team practices continue throughout the year, as an extra curricular activity, for all interested students. Practices are continuing and the students are all enjoying the continued training by their dedicated coaches.
