ARF Candidate Dispels Rumors on the Road to City Hall

0508ardzvigminasian1YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Armenian Revolutionary Federation parliament faction member Artsvik Minsian, who heads the party ticket for the upcoming Yerevan municipal elections, Thursday rejected rumors that he has withdrawn from the race and will join forces with another party.

Recent media reports claimed the Minasian was dropping out of the race to join forces with former Armenian president Levon Ter-Petrosian who heads the opposition Armenian National Congress.

The ARF candidate, speaking at a press conference, dismissed those claims and pointed out that when it came to issues of national ideology his party had nothing in common with the opposition alliance, adding, however, that his party was willing to cooperate with all forces to ensure free and fair elections.

Minasian reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fully reach out to the electorate and revealed plans for canvassing neighborhoods and holding local town hall meetings.

He expressed concern about what he called a “passive” campaign by other parties, and ensured that he would be visiting each electoral district in the coming days and weeks, leading up to the May 31 elections.

Minasian said that his campaign staff has already begun the voter-engagement process and his personal visits with the electorate will reinforce his and the ARF’s campaign platform, which was introduced last week.

He reiterated his commitment to staff city hall with professionals if he is elected mayor and pledged to work for the public to enhance the quality of life in Yerevan.
