White House Reviewing Nominees For Ambassador To Azerbaijan

WASHINGTON (News.az)– The White House is considering nominees for the vacant post of US ambassador to Azerbaijan, Terry Davidson, the spokesperson for the US embassy in Baku, told journalists on Tuesday.

“We are also looking forward to the moment when the White House will announce the nominee for the post of US ambassador to Azerbaijan,” Davidson said.

“The White House is reviewing the nominees and we are expecting the process to end,” he continued, advising journalists to ignore speculation over the identity of the new ambassador.

“You should not draw the wrong conclusions, since the ambassador has not been appointed yet. The United States has not appointed ambassadors to several other countries either,” he said.

Davidson said that although the ambassador had not been appointed, the USA was continuing cooperation with the Azerbaijani government in several areas.
