16 Days of Activism Against Domestic Violence Begins in Armenia

Armenia_violence against womenYEREVAN—The Women’s Resource Center in Yerevan on Wednesday launched a 16-day campaign to mobilize community members and organizations to protest gender-based violence in Armenia.

The campaign, titled “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence,” was announced during a press conference that also marked International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Events planned for the campaign began Wednesday with activists marching from the Women’s Resource Center to Charles Aznavour Square for candle-light vigil. A collective art exhibit and film screening on the issue will also be held from December 5–7 at Moscow Cinema.

This will be the fourth year that the Women’s Resource Center has joined countries around the world in organizing events on November 25th to raise awareness about the issue of gender violence.
