LOS ANGELES (APA)—Azerbaijan’s Consul General to Los Angeles, Elin Suleymanov, has complained to the Los Angeles Times for including Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in the Los Angeles Times Travel and Adventure Show set for February 13, the Azeri Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles event is the largest travel show in the US. The tourism offices of Armenia and Karabakh will share a large “Welcome to Armenia” booth in the Exhibition Hall of the Travel Show, which organizers estimate will be seen by as many as 50,000 people over the course of the two-day show.
According to Ministry spokesperson Elkhan Polukhov, Suleymanov wrote a letter to the LA Times protesting that the exhibition referred to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as part of Armenia. The Consul General said it was unacceptable for the newspaper to invite Nagorno Karabakh because it is “an integral part of Azerbaijan.”
Azeri-Americans have also written the LA Times, calling on the newspaper to” respect international law, which recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan,” Azerbaijan’s state-run APA news agency said.
the enemy never sleeps. We must know that! This Azeri consul functioning out of the biggest city with Armenians outside of Erevan is doing all he can. What is our response going to be? If we let this slip, it will be embarrassing.
Let what slip? Artsagh is part of Armenia. I don’t know what this mongolian is talking about. Furthermore, the maps need to show Western Armenia according to Woodrow Willson.
Please, do some research including the recent data on genetic markers. Azerbaijani people are as mongolian as you are. Being essential part of historical and cultural development Azeri language does not determine ethnic roots of the people speaking it. How many Armenians speak Armenian. Most of them speak either Russian or English or French, why do not you call yourselves Englishmen, Frenchmen or whatever language you speak. Please, you statements do not do you any honor, you live in LA enjoying all fruits of democracy while Karabakhi bastards, Sargisyan and Kocharyan are destroying of what you call great armenia, which is Persian name by the way.
Artsakh is no longer under occupation of azeri-turks. Long live free and independent Artsakh (Nagarno- Karabagh). Long live the spirit of freedom loving Artsakh Nation. The world community exactly knows whose land Artsakh belongs to. Siktir to azeri consul general.
karabakh is a tragedy for both peoples. You believe it is a victory but you lost. There had been almost 400 thousand armenians living in industrialized Baku, occupying influential positions, no you have karabakh with several thousand poor bastards without passports unable to flee their misery.
LA Armenians must speak up against suleymanov’s unjustly protests, and they must respond harshly and quickly.
TO: AZERBAIJAN CONSUL GENERAL IN LOS ANGELES
MR. ELIN SULEYMANOV.

SULEEYMANOV, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH DURING MOST OF 20TH CENTURY KARABAKH ARMENIANS WERE SUBJECTED TO CONSTANT HARASSMENT AND PERIODIC MASSACRES PERPETRATED BY AZERBAIJANIS FINALLY IN THE LATE 1980’S THE FRUSTRATED ARMENIANS REBELLED, OVERTHROWING THEIR AZERI OPPRESSORS AND DECLARED THEIR INDEPENDENCE.
SIR, WE KNOW THAT YOUR DESPERATE ACTION IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR AUTHORITIES ORDER. SURPRISINGLY YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS NO SHAME WITH THE ALL PAST HISTORY OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE OF KARABAKH PEOPLE AGAIN WANTS TO RULE KARABAKH FURTHERMORE HISTORICALLY ARTSAKH IS AN ARMENIAN ANCESTRAL LAND OFFERED TO AZERBAIJAN BY STALIN…. SIR, KARABAKH/ARTSAKH CAN NEVER EVER AGAIN BE RULED BY AZERBAIJAN FORGET IT FOR EVER… IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAPPEN AGAIN NIETHER KARABAKH/ARTSAKH PEOPLE NOR CIVILIZED WORLD WILL ACCEPT THE AZERBAIJANI RULE
ALL AZERBAIJAN’S EFFORT IS AS VAIN AS A PEACOCK…………
International law was in fact upheld when Armenians holding the majority of the Arstakh (formerly known as “Nagorno- Karabagh”) population by more than 90% declared their independence and rightfully seceded from Azerbaijan.
What the consul and the rest of Azerbaijan conveniently and selectively leave out of their “protests” is the absolute fact that the entire region of Arstakh, with a majority of Armenians living on it, was illegitimately “gifted” to Azerbaijan by the Soviet Kremlin at the beginning of the 20th century. More importantly, the Soviets knowing how illegitimate their act was, stipulated the caveat that should the Soviet Union dissolve, whoever holds MAJORITY OF POPULATION, would by default retain Arstakh (formerly known as “Nagorno- Karabagh”) .
As such, in 1988/89, when the Soviet Union did collapse, more than 85% of the population in Arstakh was composed of ethnic Armenians, the rest included Yezdis, Kurds, and Azeris. Given this undeniable fact, Christian Armenians declared their rightful, just, and well deserved independence and joined the mother land as the only legitimate heirs to the land which was wrongfully gifted to the Soviets nearly 90 years prior.
If Azerbiajan was so concerned about international laws and treaties, then it would accept this simple fact which is the unequivocal truth. However, instead, in 1989, instead of adhering to the terms of their original signed agreement as members of the Soviet Union, they decided to shell and bombard innocent Armenian villages in a vain attempt to drive out the Armenian population in order to claim Arstakh (formerly known as “Nagorno- Karabagh”) as their own.
Destiny it seems, was on the side of righteousness and the just, when amidst being attacked, Armenians in Armenia, in Arstakh, and the Diaspora, fought and won one decisive battle after another facing insurmountable odds. Out numbered 5 to 1 and heavily under-equipped, Armenian militias defeated Azeri military forces and the Azeris faced the certainty of defeat.
Most notable is the Battle of Kelbajar, which was at the time considered an impossible undertaking by Soviet, US, and most military analysts due to the heavy fortification and extremely difficult mountainous terrain. Regardless, facing impossible odds, Armenian forces pushed through and liberated a region thought by many to be an “impermeable fortress to overcome militarily even by modern means of warfare”.

Now little Azeri council, cry and whine all you want, Arstakh (formerly known as “Nagorno- Karabagh”) had always rightfully belonged to Armenians, your people were only illegitimately “gifted” the region due to Soviet might. Moreover, while you controlled the land, ethnic Christian Armenians were constantly harassed, oppressed, and mistreated for 85+ years.
Now we’ve liberated it, cleaned it up, and its on its way back to its previous splendor ready for tourists to visit and experience our rich, ancient, and beautiful Armenian culture at its finest. It WILL be showcased at the LA travel expo, the world WILL recognize Arstakh, and you WILL come to terms with the realities of your false claims. And next time Azeris try to shell one inch of Armenian land, we will crush your forces again and go all the way to Baku, and you will be writing to the LA times whining to have your port cities back.
Don’t forget the lesson we taught in you the last war, no Armenian will EVER be oppressed again by any force on Earth with impunity . . . we make this promise to you and the rest of the world.
