Law Enforcement Unites Behind Nayiri Nahabedian

Los Angeles Police Protective League and the Peace Officers Research Association of California Back Nayiri Nahabedian in AD-43 Race

LOS ANGELES–The Los Angeles Police Protective League and the Peace Officers Research Association of California announced today that they have endorsed Nayiri Nahabedian for State Assembly for the 43rd Assembly. The two organizations account for over 70,000 law enforcement officials and each are among the largest police organizations in the country.

In a letter to Nahabedian, the Police Protective League stated: “Your long ties to the community and experience in social work enable you to best understand the unique law enforcement needs in Los Angeles. Because of your commitment to effective law enforcement and meaningful criminal justice reform, the members and supporters of the LAPPL strongly endorse your candidacy for State Assembly.”

“As a social worker, I have had to work in some of the toughest neighborhoods in Los Angeles, and I’ve seen what these officers have to deal with every day,” Nahabedian said of the endorsements. “Their endorsements are an honor, and I will work in the Assembly to ensure that Los Angeles, the 43rd district, and California have law enforcement of the highest caliber.”

California’s 43rd Assembly District spans the cities of Burbank and Glendale. It also includes portions of Los Angeles, including the neighborhoods of Atwater Village, Laurel Grove, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Toluca Woods, Toluca Terrace, Valley Glen and Van Nuys. The Assembly seat is currently vacant, and a special election is scheduled for April 13th.
