LA CRESCENTA—The Western Prelacy Executive Council on Tuesday elected Rima Boghossian as its chairperson, making her the first woman to lead the body. Boghossian, was elected on the 11-member Council during the Prelacy’s National Representative Assembly, which took place from May 14 to 15.
The meeting, which was presided over by Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian and attended by Central Executive Council member Khajag Dikijian elected George Chorbajian as Vice-Chairman, Toros Kejejian as treasurer and Levon Kirakosian, Esq. as Secretary. Garo Eshgian, Khatchig Yeretzian, Vahrij Pilavjian, Vahan Bezdikian, Kahren Beniasian, Sako Shirikian and Bill Sahatdjian were named advisors on the Executive Council.
On the same day, the Prelate presided over the election of the board of Western Prelacy Religious Council. The meeting, which was also attended by Dikijian, selected Very Rev. Muron Aznikian as Chairman, Rev. Ardak Demirjian as Secretary and named Very Rev. Barthev Gulumian, Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian, Rev. Nareg Pehlivanian, Rev. Vazken Atmajian and Rev. Razmig Khatchadourian as advisor on the Council.
During their respective meetings, the Prelate welcomed and congratulated the new members of both councils and went over the decisions and suggestions put forth by the Representatives Assembly, which will be the guide of both councils’ endeavors during their term.
