ENCINO—A Back-to-School Celebration Banquet of Holy Martyrs Marie Cabayan and Ferrahian High School took place on Saturday, October 2 at the school’s Avedissian Hall, where more than $60,000 in donation was raised for the school.
The special guests of the evening, benefactors of Holy Martyrs Marie Cabayan Elementary School, Dr. Vatche and Mrs. Shoushig Cabayan and their guests were present at the event. In attendance were close to 300 parents, alumni, faculty and members of the administration.
The official program began with the welcoming remarks of the School Board Secretary, Natalie Hagobian. She invited Rev. Father Razmig Khatchadourian to convey his blessings after which Principal John Kossakian took to the podium. In his remarks, the principal conveyed that in the past the proceeds of this event were earmarked toward the school scholarship fund. This year however a large portion will be devoted toward the preliminary expenses of the elementary school construction project.
School Board Chair, Rafi Kuyumjian acknowledged the benefactors’ contribution and specifically praised Marie Cabayan, Dr. Vatche Cabayan’s mother for her aspiration toward education and Armenian schooling. His Eminence, Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian commended the Cabayans and expressed his total support of the construction project. Dr. Cabayan was then invited to the podium where he shared special memories of his mother’s love and appreciation of education.
The office of Councilman Paul Krekorian presented a plaque of appreciation to the benefactors, listed below:

Good news!
This is not enough simple to ask for donations! Armenian Diaspora and above all Armenian government as well Armenian church should reduce there spending for celebrations – such as Erbuni-Yerevan anniversary and “hotel costs”…
There are families with kids in Armenia who go hungry into bad and are not able to visit schools because they do not have shoes. Unfortunately, the same authorities are organizing unnecessary big celebration and RA ministers are engaged in creating a new feudal system in villages , villagers in Armenia are becoming form year to year poor, because a couple people with toleration of government do buy hectares of farmland and making villagers to either to become there slaves or live for Yerevan or Russia!!
pls, watch starting from 09:50

Make Armenian Schools public for all Armenian children. These staffs including the school principal, if they are fellow Armenians, then they should teach for love, not money!!! In there eye ball they only see $$$ sign. Being a true Armenian is to give to another Armenian.
