Mandatory Auto Insurance Takes Effect in Armenia

Automotive insurance in Armenia became mandatory on January 1, requiring the owners of all 430,000 or so cars and other civilian vehicles registered in Armenia to have an insurance plan that covers accidents. The country’s Central Bank was tasked with coordinating the transition which is hoped to give a massive boost to the country’s fledgling insurance industry.
