ANC-PAC and NORA Co-Host Successful Fundraiser for Representative Royce

PASADENA – The Armenian National Committee-Political Action Committee and the National Organization of Republican Armenians, on June 25, co-hosted a successful fundraiser for United States Congressman Ed Royce from Orange County at Il Fornaio restaurant in Pasadena.

Representative Royce has been a stalwart supporter of Armenian American issues during his tenure in the U.S. Congress and previously, as well, when he was a member of the California State Senate. Most recently, under his stewardship as an original co-author, the Congressional resolution calling upon the government of Turkey to return church properties which were stolen during the Armenian Genocide and thereafter was introduced in Congress.

“NORA, as a newly active organization, is proud to support Rep. Royce, one of the Armenian American community’s good friends in Southern California,” said NORA Vice Chairman Aram Gaboudian. “Rep. Royce is a respected member of Congress who will receive strong, continued support by NORA.”

This was the first fundraiser for a Member of Congress in which NORA participated. Through its support of candidates and elected officials, the organization intends to become a prominent voice for Republicans in the Armenian community throughout the United States.

The other co-host of the evening, ANCPAC, is a non-partisan organization which makes campaign contributions to candidates who have shown their commitment to important issues such as recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the protection of the right to self-determination of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and increasing ties between the United States and Armenia.

Kris Demirjian, a Board Member of the ANCPAC, commented, “ANCPAC supports candidates who have a proven track record of being on the right side of issues of concern to the Armenian American community.” He continued, “Rep. Royce has been unyielding in ensuring that those issues – like the return of church properties still in Turkey – are brought to the fore in the U.S. Congress.”
