GLENDALE—On Thursday, September 29, the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region invites the community to meet with current Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, who has announced her candidacy for the 2013 Los Angeles mayoral election. Prior to her position as City Controller, Greuel was the former President Pro Tempore of the Los Angeles City Council representing the 2nd District, which includes portions of the San Fernando Valley.
The event, which will take place at the Studio City home of longtime activists Michael and Natalie Mahdesian, is part of the ongoing ANCA-WR Meet & Greet Series, where elected officials have the opportunity to discuss issues of significance to the Armenian American community and their constituents. The Meet & Greet series highlights the significant civic engagement of the Armenian American community throughout the Western Region and the United States, in all aspects of local, state and national politics.
The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region is the largest and most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy organization in the Western United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and affiliated organizations around the country, the ANCA-WR advances the concerns of the Armenian American community on a broad range of issues.
