LA CRESCENTA–The Armenian National Committee of America – Crescenta Valley Chapter announced its endorsement of Vasken Yardemian for Crescenta Valley Town Council on Monday–October 28–2002. Mr. Yardemian–a long time activist and friend of the ANC is running for reelection for the La Crescenta Town Council. Mr. Yardemian has served on the Town Council since 1998. In 1999 he was the Council President. He also was elected last year to serve on the Board of Directors of the Crescenta Valley Water District. Mr. Vasken Yardemian was also among Glendale News Press list of 103 most influential figures in Glendale/La Crescenta for 2002.
"We are confident that Mr. Yardemian will continue to do a fantastic job representing all the residents of the La Crescenta and Montrose communities," said Sako Tchakian–Chair of the local ANC. "We want to encourage all Armenian-Americans to get out and vote for Mr. Yardemian and show support for him."
The purpose of the Crescenta Valley Town Council is to provide a forum for the public–through a town meeting–to identify and discuss issues of concern and to represent the residents and businesses in the un-incorporated areas of La Crescenta and Montrose. The Council also aims to work together with government bodies and agencies–as well as local organizations–to meet the needs of our community.
The Town Council election will be held on Saturday Nov. 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the C.V. Sheriff’s station at 4554 Briggs Avenue.
