ENCINO–The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region honored former California State Assembly Majority Leader and community activist Walter Karabian–Esq. and San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown–Jr. with its Man of the Year and Freedom Awards–respectively–at the organization’s 1997 Annual Banquet–Friday.
The event drew more than 750 friends and supporters of the ANCA-WR–including a number of public and elected officials–such as Senator Barbara Boxer–former State Assemblymember Mike Roos and USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Michael Mahdesian.
