YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The opening of the first seven floors of Ani Plaza Hotel was held on September 20. According to one of the founders of Ani Enterprises–Safi Tufenkian–Ani Plaza Hotel will be fully commissioned by 2001. According to hotel manager Hovhannes Achigezian–of the 12 million dollars needed for the reconstruction of the hotel 8 million have already been used. 99 rooms (there will be 250 rooms total) meeting the international standards–two cafe-bars and a business center have already been put into operation. According to the manager–the commissioning of the main wing of the hotel will be followed by the construction of two wings and a business center.
The hotel’s opening ceremony was attended by Armenia’s President Robert Kocharian–Karabakh’s President Arkady Ghoukassian–US Ambassador to Armenia Michael Lemmon–participants in the Armenia-Diaspora Conference–and others.
