YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Representatives of regional committees of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation gathered in Yerevan Tuesday to discuss the current political situation and the role of local party structures in advancing changes foreseen by the recently concluded ARF Supreme Assembly.
Executive Council Vice-Chairman Armen Rustamian outlined the main points of activities of the newly elected Executive Council.
He stressed that during a recent meeting–President Robert Kocharian was told about issues raised during the recent Supreme Assembly–including the ongoing severe social and economic crisis–the need to revise the existing principles of appointing personnel and the ineffective work of the National Assembly. Steps being taken to revive relations with a number of other parties were also presented to the participants in the meeting.
The Executive Council made a decision to hold regular meetings in provinces jointly with ARF regional committees to study local problems.
