YEREVAN (Yerkir)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) submitted 34,750 valid endorsement signatures to the Central Election Commission on Thursday–instead of 30,000 required by the law–in support of its party list of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The ARF press office revealed that before submitting its list–the ARF checked the validity of the signatures in order to prevent discrepancies.
"The signatures were gathered long ago–but we wanted to double-check them," a spokesman for the press service said–adding that the signatures had been gathered from throughout the regions of Armenia. "In going back to the signatories–we were once again able to reach out to the local population–to hear their views and recommendations."
The press service spokesman added that they did not encounter any obstacles during the gathering of signatures–and that no one refused to sign.
