YEREVAN–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation youth and students organizations’ seventh Pan-Armenian Jamboree continued in Armenia.
On Thursday Armen Roustamian–the representative of ARF Executive Council of Armenia and the vice chairman of the foreign relations’ committee of the National Assembly of Armenia presented an educational entitled "Armenian Cause: the evolution of the Artsakh issue," while Haykaz Alvrtsian spoke about–"Armenian Cause: Javakhk."
On the same day the campers watched a documentary about Western Armenia entitled "The Unfulfilled Pilgrimage" and had a conversation with the movie producers afterwards. On Friday a presentation entitled "Armenian Cause: the genocide issue and Turkish claims" was presented by Mario Nalbandian–an ARF member and the European Armenian Cause Central Office representative. The same day–the ARF Bureau members Mario Nalbandian and Albert Ajemian had a discussion with the campers about returning to Armenia. Ajemian discussed the meaning and evolution of the subject–and the campers followed up by voicing their opinions concerning the issue.
During the second week the campers will visit various historical sites as well as state institutions and factories of Armenia. On Saturday the campers attended the opening ceremony of the Second Pan-Armenian Games where they greeted the Armenian athletes–who came from different parts of the world. The campers yelled slogans like " No To The Genocide Denial" and "Armenian-Turkish relations: Reconciliation minus Recognition equals Denial," which received a very enthusiastic response.
They returned to the campsite at midnight with strong impressions from the events they participated in that day. On Sunday–the campers went to Yerablur and paid their respects to those who perished during the Karabakh War. At the grave site of Sose Mayrig the campers sang " Verekov Li". On behalf of the camp administration–Aram Frankian pledged the continuity and the integrity of the Armenian Liberation struggle.
After visiting the Sardarabad Museum–the campers went to Etchmiadzin–where they were welcomed by His Holiness Karekin II–the Catholicos of all Armenia’s. His Holiness greeted and blessed all the AYF members. After the meeting Karekin II answered numerous questions presented by the campers.
Early in the morning on Monday the campers attended the Dzidzernzgzpert Memorial and the Genocide Museum. After–they attended a scheduled meeting at the National Assembly of Armenia–where they were welcomed by Vice Speaker Tigran Torosian–Vahan Hovanessian–an ARF Bureau Executive and the member of the defense–internal affairs and national security committee of the Armenian Parliament–and Aghvan Vardanian–the chairman of the ARF faction of the Armenian Parliament. Torosian met the campers at the main session hall–and presented them to the workings of the Armenian State Government as well as the Parliament.
Regarding the dual citizenship issue–which interested campers the most–Tigran Torosian pointed out that the problem will hopefully be resolved in the near future with proposed Constitutional reforms.
In the afternoon–the campers visited a military detachment of the Armenian Army–where they were witnessed the reality of the life of solders and many other problems plaguing the army.
The campers then set off to Khor Virab.
