STEPANAKERT (ArmRadio)—Election observers from Argentina arrived in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Friday ahead of Sunday polls to decide the country’s new parliament.
The Argentinean delegation included Jose Ameghino Arbo, a member of Argentina’s National Congress Chamber of Deputies and Argentinean-Armenian public figure Sergio Nahabedyan.
Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan met with the observers, thanking them for their constructive role in the young republic’s democratic development. He praised Argentina for its continued “impartial and objective stance” toward Karabakh and the region. Sahakian also spoke to Arbo and Nahabedyan about domestic and foreign policy issues
The President underlined the importance of Argentinean observers’ participation in the parliamentary elections, noting that Argentina had always displayed impartial and objective stance towards the events taking place in the republic and the whole region abstaining from unnecessary politicization.
