YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia’s Energy Ministry and the United States Export Council for Renewable Energy signed a joint statement of intent to cooperate in the field of renewable energy.
The intended joint activities may include facilitation of business alliances between US companies and Armenian enterprises in renewable energy technologies and fostering the establishment of innovative vehicles to build successful enterprises as a part of a national renewable energy program.
During the visit of the US/ECRE delegation to Armenia–close cooperation was established with the "Energy Strategy Center" Project Implementation Office working within the EC/TACIS Program.
Senior Expert of the Office Ara Marajanian said that in late May a package of projects in the field of renewable energy would be sent to the United States and perhaps–in a few months the American party would answer to the proposals made.
US ECRE is an international–non-governmental organization which includes 1,200 companies–six professional associations and five export financial agencies–including USAID–EximBank and OPIC.
