YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Around 96.6 percent of foreign investors in Armenia advise others to invest in the Armenian economy–since Armenia has lived up to expectations of 70 percent of foreign investors. 76 percent of investors working in Armenia are certain that their enterprises will be prosperous–and only 2.6 percent are going to retire. A considerable part of investors are planning huge investmen’s in the next two or three years. These data were obtained via a public opinion poll run by specialists of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and presented to Greek businessmen who were in Armenia within the framework of the Greek president’s visit to Armenia.
Most investors refer to the low cost of manpower and the presence of highly skilled personnel as to one of the favorable conditions to make investmen’s in the Armenian economy.
Those questioned said that unlike other CIS countries Armenia’showed big progress as to the application of laws–more accessible information and predictable changes over the last two years. Yet–the polls showed that there are still some shortcomings in the sphere of tax and customs administration.
