YEREVAN (news.am)—Armenia will not support the Turkish nominee to head the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, said Armenia’s Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian told an Austrian newspaper Tuesday.
“We have not made a decision on the candidates yet. But concerning the Turkish candidate, we stated that we cannot support him because Turkish representatives in different international organizations generally differ with their biased approaches and do not waste any opportunity in order not to express themselves against Armenia’s positions,” Nalbandian told the Vienna-based Der Standard newspaper.
Last month, Turkish President Abdullah Gul announced that he would seek Armenia’s support for his Turkish nominee to succeed in his bid to become secretary general of the international body, which in now mediating the Karabakh peace process.
“That means that one of the other candidates could be supported by our side,” Nalbandian replied. Asked whether Armenia would back former Austrian foreign minister Ursula Plassnik, Nalbandian said that Armenia will narrow the list in the neat future.

Few years ago you would have heard Nalbandian say that he supported Turkey’s entry into the EU.
I have not seem him smile ever since he signed the infamous protocols.
