YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The UN Armenian office extended its condolences to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Secretariat regarding the terrorist action in Baghdad–which killed UN Special Representative in Iraq Sergio Vieira de Mello and seventeen other UN representatives. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan called the attack "unforgivable and brutal."
The UN Armenian office announced that August 21 and 22 would be dedicated to the memory of the victims and the signing of the book of condolences. Armenian government members–representatives from many embassies–diplomatic missions–and international and local NGOs extended their condolences to the friends and families of the people who died performing their honorable duties in Iraq.
