YEREVAN (ARKA)—The Armenian state is dangerously being mismanaged, warned a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation’s parliamentary faction on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in Yerevan, Artsvik Minasian said widespread incompetence plagues nearly all sectors of Armenia’s government and industry, from the irresponsible management of natural resources, to negligent and poorly thought out legislation.
The Armenian government, he said, has failed in virtually all of the programs, which it pledged to implement immediately after forming the coalition government after the 2008 presidential elections.
“Instead of revising its positions and defining a way out of this crisis with other members of the coalition, the government continues its ‘anti-competition and anti-social policies’ approach,” he said. “The government is reluctant to crackdown on monopolies, stimulate economic development or raise the living standards of its citizens.”
The true depth of this incompetence, he argued, is reflected in the government’s 2011 budget. “It is not a pro-active budget as the authorities claim,” Minasian said. “It does not envisage a rise in wages, benefits or other social allowances. It does not encourage small and medium businesses growth and does nothing to create equal opportunities for all citizens.”
Minasian suggested that a way out of the crisis can begin with the government’s revision of its fiscal, credit, and monetary policies, along with the implementation of policies designed to boost local production and encourage domestic economic sectors that will decrease Armenia’s heavy dependence on its import economy.
He said such a shift in approach could “help raise employment levels in Armenia from the current 48% to at least 65%.” Minasian also suggested the government cut tax rates for small and medium companies and adopt progressive and regressive tax policies.

The ARF’s Mr. Minasian is right. It’s despecable that there is so much difference of classes in Armenia. There is the very filty rich and then the very dirt poor. If Sarkisian’s government would start acting on behalf of the Armenian people and be more patriotic; things should start picking up for our Motherland.
Armenia mismanaged! What else to expect from the three presidents and their cohorts, beginning with the likes of Der Bedrossian, who gave away the assets of Haiastan, filled his own pockets, bought his family home in France – and today has the GALL to gather his followers/cohorts too, to stand before the citizens of Haiastan, about anything!! Too, up until today the leaderships of Armenia are a disgrace whose actions are denying the worthy citizens of Haiastan… who are deserving of honest leaders and honesty in government.
Instead Serge and Company are the wrong people to be leading Haiastan in these earliest of Haiastan’s fledgling almost 20 years. In the two years 1918-1920 the HONEST leaderships of Haiastan, (before it had to choose communism against the vile turkeys) even had university!! Now that is the
examples to be followed… patriots running Haiastan – not ex-communists’ mentality… Serge and company’s selfish actions are stealing from the citizenry of Haiastan who are worthy and deserve leaders who are patriots and dedicated to our Haiastan. Serge take your cohorts and leave!
Manooshag

P.S. Too, it was Der Bedrossian, stupidly directed that the ARF of Haiastan not belong to the worldwide
ARF…. shows how his mentality was and is – still, stupid! Manooshag
I read this and I’m thinking why can’t the electorate over there do what we did over here in this country; Throw the bums out.
