Armenia Fund Telethon 2005 Domestic and International Broadcast Information
LOS ANGELES–Armenia Fund–Inc.–the Western Region affiliate of the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund announced today the domestic and international viewing broadcast information for Telethon 2005 scheduled for November 24–Thanksgiving Day.
Set to reach a record breaking 180 million households around the globe–Armenia Fund has significantly expanded its broadcast footprint to generate greater support and participation.
Telethon 2005 is a 12-hour program broadcasting live from Los Angeles–California. Proceeds from the Telethon will benefit the multilevel beneficiary project–Redevelopment of Martakert–a region in Karabagh.
The project includes the rebuilding of the Martakert Regional Hospital as well as the implementation of an emergency ambulance system within the region. Funding will also be allocated for medical training and the purchase of equipment.
"The Telethon is not only a means to rally the financial resources of the Armenian diaspora–but also a medium of bringing Armenia and Karabagh closer to the diaspora–by utilizing all forms of technology and multimedia"–stated Maria Mehranian–Chairperson of Armenia Fund–Inc.
"The Telethon continues to grow every year…this year–viewers can access the Telethon through high power broadcast stations," stated Sarkis Kotanjian–executive director. "The Telethon will feature documentary footage about the Fund’s projects in Armenia and Karabagh–as well as live entertainment and guest appearances."
